End-of-Season Team Dinner – Nov. 17th

We will hold our end-of-season team dinner on November 17th at 6:30pm on the Maher Avenue campus. This is a required event for all boys on the fall squad. Coat and tie.

BSBC Alums in Championship Season

Øivind Lorentzen ’09 raced in Stanford University’s Varsity Eight at the IRA National Championships. In the Second Level Final, he met Chan Mahaney ’09 of the Georgetown Lightweights who was rowing for the Georgetown Heavyweights at the IRA.

George Moran ’07 rowed in Yale’s Second Varsity at the Harvard-Yale Regatta. Lawrence Lopez ’10 rowed in Yale’s First Freshmen Eight.

Peter Chu ’10 coxed Wesleyan’s Varsity Eight to a successful season.

Nick O’Neill ’07 and Austin Stack ’07 finished out strong four-year careers with Princeton Heavyweight Crew.

Hank Schless ’10 (below left at NESCAC championships) and Peter Haley ’09 (below center) finished up a successful season with Bates College. Peter was voted MVP of his team and was elected to the NESCAC all-conference first boat.

Andover Wins NEIRA; Brunswick Finishes 6th in Points Trophy

Brunswick boats raced their best on a hot Memorial Day Weekend in Worcester. The Varsity Eight took 11th place, while the Second and Third Eights were 5th and 6th. The team’s finish earned a somewhat disappointing 6th in the competitive Team Points Trophy.

Congratulations to GA who became NEIRA champions in the 1st and 2nd fours.

Empacher Christened on Beautiful Spring Day

In an intimate ceremony following the pre-NEIRA intra-squad races, the BSBC christened the “Joseph P. Falco” in honor of the program’s Head Coach. Taylor Black ’09 spoke on behalf of his family and all of Coach Falco’s former Brunswick oarsmen; Taylor asked Coach Falco to do the honors by pouring the traditional home river water over the bow of the shell nicknamed “FALCON.”

BSBC Shows Solid Speed at Kent Invitational

Brunswick raced well this weekend at Lake Waramaug, but Kent swept the racing at their invitational.

The Bruins have finished their “regular season” and will spend these last two weeks of the season preparing for the New England Championships. More details regarding the NEIRA regatta coming soon.
